The Capcom version is astoundingly half-assed. The Software Creations version is a glorious aversion of this trope, pretty much porting the game as well as the C64 would allow, and sporting a superb remix of the soundtrack by Tim Follin. Bionic Commando had two C64 versions - one by Capcom USA and one by Software Creations UK, both based on the arcade version.Or do the newer Intel processors have the same issue?. Maybe someone can create a dll that would specifically solve the game lag // stuttering problem of Heroes 4 on the maps and combat, without any serious side effects (like reducing the graphics quality, like additional maneuvers when the game is launched, and like using overclock options (this one should be more avoided, because it can damage the processor)).Īlso, is this problem only on AMD hardware?. I'm sure the 16 bits color option reduces some of the image // animation quality, but it's the best option so far.ĭoes anyone know a solution for this?. On the previous version of windows 10 (april 10 update), I could play Heroes 4 without any lags when choosing the reduced color mode 16 bits option, but to do so now I would have to reinstall windows. Windows 10 creators update seems to be another cause of this, since a lot of persons confirmed that (through on other games). While it doesn't affect the installed games, there are graphic glitches in other areas. I've solved the problem by uninstalling the AMD graphics driver (it's named AMD software), but it's a temporary solution since there are scaling problems when starting a full screen game (the desktop gets giant before entering the game)and the obvious bugs that exist when the graphics drivers are not installed. It seems that lag // stutters started with AMD driver version 17.12.1, so I've tried installing older versions of it and it either didn't have any effect or it couldn't recognize the drivers and failed to install. Changing the "My digital flat panels" settings in Catalyst Control is not an option, because it can damage the processor. Is there any way to make Heroes 4 maps playable without the unusual lag, without compromising the graphics quality?.ġ.) running the program in any compatibility mode ģ.) setting up a higher priority for the game ĥ.) I've tried the GL Wrapper, but the problem is that it reduces the graphics quality of the game. When I play Heroes 3, Heroes 5 or any other game, I don't have that problem, so it seems to be a matter of unique coding on Heroes 4. I have Windows 10 64 bit Enterprise edition and AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics. Whenever I start any map of the game, the game has an intense lag which makes it unplayable.
